"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me." - Revelation 3:20
"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples." - John 13:34-35
"And she bare him a son, and he called his name Gershom: for he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land." - Exodus 2:22

These are a series of images intended to supplement The Host and the Guest, to illustrate the link between biology and psychology. One should not suppose that any of the organisms depicted here could provide anything like assent regarding the religious quotations with which they are paired. Rather it is to suggest that the religious notions somehow may lie nascent within universal biological principles, and that these can be seen even within the most basal processes of life and mind.

What others could be included here?
